PageSend 1.6 available the App Store

We are happy to announce that a new version of PageSend has hit the App Store worldwide. Version 1.6 brings some major updates to the App and website, making it easier to get started and easier to create awesome documents This release is based very much on feedback we've had from our users and we hope that you find it much more intuitive to use. So lets take a look at some of the groundbreaking features available in the  new app

Starting out with your first document

Based on the feedback we've had from people it turns out the signup process has been a real stumbling block. To help aid first timers we have introduced a concept of anonymous users. This allow you to start the app without entering an email address or password immediately. You can however upgrade your account into a fully registered account any time you enter the app.

We also want to help everyone create their first document and learn how to use the app as quickly as possible. When you create your first document you're now presented with a pre-loaded video tutorial on how to get started. It runs for just 30 seconds but helps you record and draw your first document.

Working with content

We keep hearing from our users that they want to start a document with some basic content from a template, the app now supports this. When you create a new document you will be presented with the screen below. You can select to create a document as you would normally but you can also use one of the templates we provide. PageSend version 1.6 ships with two templates but we will be adding more between versions. You wont need to do anything, the app will simply download new ones as they become available. Templates make it easy to get started

Another requested feature is the ability to copy your documents so you can edit them further or to keep snapshots of something really good. This is now supported on the PageSend website. Simply navigate to your document online and then click the "copy" button. This will create an exact copy for you and automatically add it to your documents.

Creating content

After using the app ourselves for some time and listening to what you have to say it was quickly becoming obvious that PageSend wasn't the easiest app to use to create documents. There was often lots of clicking between popups to get what you wanted and some of the concepts such as layers remained a mystery to many. We want PageSend to be super easy and super quick to use, so we've spent a lot of time and put a lot of effort into redesigning the user interface in version 1.6. If you're going from 1.5 to 1.6 you might find the app looks a little different. Don't worry all the great features are still there! Lets take a look at some of the changes.

Here we have the old and new home screens. There's now much more focus on the content of your documents with large previews representing the buttons. You'll also be pleased to know if you don't have any thumbnail previews for a document the app will automatically try to download them for you from our servers so you have useful content all the time. We've introduced a toolbar at the bottom, this provides controls for your settings and also is a great portal to get involved on PageSend online. Try tapping a few of the buttons and get connected!

The document screen has been redesigned from the ground up to make it easier for you to create amazing documents. The main toolbar has been focused to give you quick access to what you use most. Things like adding text or images, changing between pen colours and so forth. All the tools available in the old interface are still there, many that are rarely accessed but still important now reside behind the blue information button. Video editing and export tools have been placed in the bottom right of the screen giving you one location to start, stop, play and export documents. Why not try out the new interface and see how much quicker and smarter you can work.
